The shooting according to police happened near 27th Street and Beardsley Road and the suspect identified as Nicholas Cowan is still on the loose. The incident began at approximately 1015 am when a woman called police from a Marathon gas station located near Beardsley Road and Cave Creek Road to report she was afraid of a possible confrontation with her boyfriend 35-year-old Nicholas Cody.
